All-Age Service for the Week After Easter (Lessons and Carols)

Many years ago, a friend (hi, Kelly S!) shared the idea of a “lessons and carols” style service for the week after Easter. The idea is a simple service of, well, lessons and carols!

It’s a great idea for a lot of reasons: the week after Easter is a week when you want to keep the momentum of the good news going. Christ is risen! At the same time, many ministry leaders are tapped out and tired from all of the labor of Holy Week. It’s nice to have something a little different.

The week after Easter is also a time when many families might choose to skip the service, but if there’s an assignment (please come and do a reading, or lead the Call to Worship) they could be convinced to come.

I created a simple liturgy with stories, songs, and a rhythm I thought would be nice for the week after Easter. You’ll find it below in a PDF but you can also use it as a Google Doc HERE. Be sure to make a copy so you can edit it! (You’ll need to be signed in to make a copy. Please do not request edit access)

Enjoy!
